Laury, I love everything you write, but this one screams with talent. You have such a gift for expressing feelings accurately that most of us “writers” will never attain.
I slid into practicing delayed gratification to use my energy for the good of others. It sounds like a good idea, and... It can deplete the energy it takes to do that kind of good in a sustainable way.
Not really. But I do love the psychological aspect of the show. I can always tell when they’re about to tap out (not that it’s hard, the way it is fimed/produced).
We don't get to see how it's all spliced, but I can imagine (for my own entertainment) that somebody behind the scene calls the dude back and says, "So hey, we're kind of backed up here...can you tap out tomorrow?"
Gorgeous writing in this piece. Such depth of thought. Excellent use of metaphors. And might I say your external observations were stunning in and of themselves? Love the finale with the transcript of your voice recording!
Thank you for sharing your poignant reflection in Wake Up. Your vivid imagery of a bird's fall against the snow serves as a powerful metaphor for life's fragility and the urgency to embrace the present moment. Your words are a timely reminder to appreciate the fleeting beauty around us and to live with intention.
Hi Laury,
This is so beautifully written. It has given me so many things to think about. To not wait, to not hold back to savor what we need. Gorgeous thank you
I’m happy that you have happy feet happy toes and a wonderful spring in your step.
Prajna, you broke my heart a little bit with your generous words. Yes to not waiting and savoring what we need. Thank you for getting it.
Perfect for me today. Really, too many words to tell you the story but I did get it. Thank you.

Brava, chica! Congratulations on winning "Survival of the Wisest."
You're on a waaay better show called life and you are a survivor and wise.
Yay! I win! I think the people I'm interacting with here - you, Debby, Jeannie, Paul and Prajna - have all been wisdom-donors. It takes a village.
I love that very much. What an honor to witness and walk with you.
All blessings to you, my friend.
One of my favorite shows!
Right? Do you feel just a little guilty watching it, too?
Not really. But I do love the psychological aspect of the show. I can always tell when they’re about to tap out (not that it’s hard, the way it is fimed/produced).
